I have solved the mystery of William Greenhalgh! If you go to his page on Family Tree, you can see all of my sources. I was very pleased, except it's not a happy story. Mary Ann apparently left William in Kirtland after they emigrated in 1840, with their three sons, and she went on to Nauvoo where she married Joseph Fielding. At first I thought she was a widow, but then I found him on the 1850 census, so there is no question she left him. William and Mary Ann emigrated with his 2 brothers, and their information is in Family Tree, too. William and his brother Nehemiah, and Mary Ann, had received Patriarchal blessings just before they left England, and that's where I got the birth dates. Josephine, Mary Ann's daughter, did the temple work for the 3 sons, and she identified herself as their half-sister, so I have what I think is solid proof.
