Note: This record was made approximately 10 years after Myrtle Mary's birth. A record of Mary Ann Fielding's divorce from James McKnight is dated 31 Oct 1885. In her divorce petition she mentions the need for medical care in connection with a pregnancy. This may indicate that the year of Myrtle Mary's birth date could be 1886 instead of 1887 as stated on the church record of birth.

Hi Karen,
I think I mentioned Hattie when I wrote before. She is our "mystery woman". Her older half-sister Annie McLean was 15 & her younger sister Ursula was only 2 when their mother died. I believe they all stayed in Salt Lake for several more years, but I don't know if they remained on their own or were taken in by James & Mary Ann McKnight or other families. There is a census record of Hattie in 1880 staying in Salt Lake with a young couple from England. I can't find Annie or Ursula in that census, but I'm not sure if they had already left or were simply overlooked. By the mid-1880's they had all left. Annie & Ursula both married in Nevada & Annie spent much of her life there on a ranch raising 4 boys. Ursula spent only a short time in Nevada, then returned with her husband to his home state of Maine. They had no natural children, but adopted a baby girl around 1918-19. Her husband died in 1930 & she remained in Maine. The last I actually know of her was Dec, 1943. I don't know exactly when or where in ME she died. Hattie left Salt Lake either with or around the same time as the other girls. She traveled north, spent some time in Chicago & eventually turned up in Maine in 1904, widowed & with a 13-14 year old daughter, Ursula Hope Wirt (called Hope). Hattie married Ernest E. Spencer in Maine 11 Feb 1904, they had a son Raymond in 1910, & she died in Maine 22 Oct 1913. Hope was born in or around Chicago, but few details are known of her early years.
