I was a widow nearly four year. Married John Parker the 29 of March 1846. We left Nauvoo the (unreadable date) of May. We had to leave father Parker and 7 children at Nauvoo. My oldest son (Ralph Douglas, KB) was married and gone to winter quarters and was one that went in the Mormon Batallion. My second son went out with the pioneers. Went as far as Garden Grove and came home with some others. My Parker and me and my oldest girl had gone to St. Louis and as soon as we had earned money enough I went up to Nauvoo to fetch the rest of our family. My husbans (sic) health was verey (sic) poor when we got there. He had the ague for 9 months he was not able to do hard labour but he got employ where they maid root beer. Verey low wages. Previtions(sic) (provisions)was verey low and we all went to work and we got along first rait(sic). We stayed in St. louis 6 year. I had 2 children, a girl and boy. We was there in all the worst of Colra (cholera). We did not have to leave any of our family, although several of the family had the Colra. We was prospered and blessed in all things that we did , and we gathered means to take us to S.L. City and to help othere(sic). We left St. Louis on the 15 day of April and landed in S.L. City on the 28 August all well. My youngest child was 5 months old when we left St. Louis. He died when he was 11 months and 3 day (end of text)
